Google eliminates jobs at Waze after merging ad services

Bay Bridge lane where toll worker was killed by drunk driver will remain closed: Roadshow

Q: I have been driving across the Bay Bridge for a very long time now and wonder when they are going to fix lane 14. It has been closed for years now. Today I almost got sideswiped by someone going too fast. When that driver got to the closed lane (14), they cut me off and almost caused an accident.When you are approaching the toll plaza, the lanes curve and you don’t notice that lane being closed until you are almost on top of it.Can you shed some light on this?DaveA: There are no plans to open lane 14, which hasn’t had any toll collection equipment since a horrific collision occurred in the lane on Dec. 2, 2017. A controversial 28-foot Christian cross perched atop Albany Hill Park for more than five decades is officially gone.Well, at least for now.Early on June 8, the city quietly removed the electrically illuminated steel and plexiglass cross, which the Albany Lions Club installed in 1971 on then-private land. The hushed removal was Albany’s attempt to finally allay accusations of constitutional violation, address residents’ resentment about one religion being given preference over others, and free up more space on the 1.1-acre plot of what is now public park space.But the cross’ ouster is only the latest chapter in a contentious years-long fight between the city and the Lions Club, a community service group, which has traditionally lit up the cross every Easter Sunday and Christmas week. Santa Clara Co., Cupertino reach deal on quarry development

SFMTA awarded $30M for zero-emission vehicles

'Safe and sane' fireworks sales underway in Dublin

The S&P 500 was down 0.4% in early trading Wednesday. The Dow fell 106 points, or 0.3%, and the Nasdaq composite was off 0.3%. 16-year-old accused of murdering girlfriend

DENVER (KDVR) -- A 16-year-old boy from Greeley is charged with murder after allegedly shooting and killing his girlfriend after she tried to break up with him.The teens dated for about six months, according to a release from the 19th Judicial District Attorney's Office in Weld County. Contaminated Denver land to be cleaned up for housing Investigators say that around 3:45 p.m. on June 16, Jovanni Sirio-Cardona broke into the 15-year-old girl's home on North 35th Avenue through a bedroom window then shot her several times.After this, Sirio-Cardona then allegedly took an iPhone from a witness in the home so they couldn't call 911 and left.In addition to murder charges, the boy is charged with burglary, aggravated robbery and possession of a handgun by a juvenile.Sirio-Cardona is being charged as an adult. Bond has been set at $2 million and he is set to appear in court again next month.
