Two Minnesota companies are recalling cut cantaloupe due to potential salmonella contamination, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced. The cantaloupe products were sold at locations including regional convenience stores, delis and at Caribou locations at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. However, the recalled cantaloupe products are now past their “use-by” dates — so consumers are not likely to still find them for sale.Health officials say that consumers who purchased the recalled fruits and still have them should throw them away and wash surfaces that touched them with hot, soapy water or in a dishwasher. The Minnesota companies issuing the recalls are Bix Produce of Little Canada and Cut Fruit Express of Inver Grove Heights.Bix Produce of Little Canada, Minn., is issuing a voluntary cantaloupe recall. Remodeling, if not reinventing downtown St. Paul’s Xcel Energy Center and the city’s adjoining RiverCentre convention halls would require the state to find “hundreds of millions” of dollars, a request that has already drawn meetings between St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter, Gov. Tim Walz and management of the Minnesota Wild. The mayor’s office is pitching the project as the revitalization of a statewide asset that hosts more than just professional hockey games. Think of state high school sports tournaments, high school graduations, concerts, conventions and the annual Hmong New Year’s celebration. Each year, the city sends $315 million in sales tax revenue alone to the state of Minnesota, a significant portion of which can be attributed to events at the arena complex. City officials have estimated that between hotel rooms, a hotel occupancy tax, jobs and other related spending, the facility’s overall economic impact adds up to roughly $493 million...Pittsfield offers homebound vaccination appointments

Sen. Julie Gonzales, a Denver Democrat who was at the Capitol as the bus was unloading about 8:30 a.m., estimated the number of people onboard at 40 to 50. She directed them into the building to get warm while officials coordinated the next steps.Gonzales said some of the migrants told her they’d come from Eagle Pass, a Texas town near the border with Mexico. Evan Dreyer, a deputy chief of staff to Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, said he hadn’t received confirmation about the circumstances of the bus trip but that it matched a recent pattern of buses arriving from the border state.“The state of Texas, the governor’s office, has contracted with two or three different bus companies to transport migrants out ...Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters shut down Denver’s Speer Boulevard outside Global Conference For Israel
