Springlike warmth with above-average temperatures topping 60 degrees and light wind is expected Tuesday and Wednesday before possible snow blows down from the mountains.Denver residents likely will face a high of around 63 degrees Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. As if the Southland wasn't wet enough already, two more days of rain have arrived in the area.On Tuesday and Wednesday, "widespread moderate-very heavy rainfall & gusty winds" are expected, according to the National Weather Service. Rainfall rates could peak at 0.5 inches to 1 inch per hour, likely in mountainous and foothill areas, which could receive between 4 and 8 inches of rain in total, the NWS said.In addition, gusty winds could reach 30 to 50 mph - and perhaps isolated gusts of 60 mph - in the mountains of Ventura and Los Angeles counties. Several streets will be closed in Monterey Park Tuesday for a visit from President Joe Biden, who will be unveiling an executive order to reduce gun violence two months after a gunman killed 11 people in a ballroom there. Jack Mallory was known as Mr. Groundhog, Mr. Fourth of July, Mr. Sister City, Mr. Penn State, Mr. Time Capsule and above all, Mr. Saratoga.He was like Sunshine Williams—the originator of Saratoga’s Blossom Festival whom he often portrayed at community events—always with a smile on his face, always positive and always Saratoga’s biggest fan. In the early ’90s Saratoga doyenne Fran Miller dubbed him “Mr. Saratoga,” and that title stuck.Mallory died March 4 at age 86.Mallory responsible for many Saratoga events, including the annual Fourth of July celebration, when he always dressed in colonial garb.
