$1.3 million in illegal weed products found in Pomona building

Police are investigating after $1.3 million of marijuana products were found in a Pomona commercial building.On March 9, Pomona police officers responded to a vacant commercial property at 761 Corporate Center Drive involving an embezzlement investigation.When they arrived, they discovered an illegal casino with several electronic casino game consoles inside.While searching the building, police discovered an illegal marijuana dispensary as well.Over 1,500 pounds of marijuana product was found including a variety of weed products such as loose-leaf marijuana, edibles, and hashish oil, authorities said.Police are investigating after $1.3 million in marijuana products were found in a Pomona building on March 9, 2023. SACRAMENTO — A federal judge here has jailed a retired California Highway Patrol officer after FBI agents secretly trailed him to two stores and collected evidence he violated the pretrial release terms in his child pornography case by possessing a cellphone, court records show.Timothy Allen Horwath, 52, is in the Sacramento County Jail on a no-bail hold after U.S. Magistrate Judge Deborah Barnes issued a detention order Feb. 28, records show. Horwath was charged in 2019 with possessing more than 350 videos of child pornography, as well as a whopping 40,000 pictures.During the investigation, authorities found evidence Horwath, a Redding resident, was using a high school-age picture of a boy who was friends with one of his children to pretend to be a minor online. Leaders of the Diocese of Oakland are giving “strong consideration” to filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy amid an expected crush of lawsuits against the church alleging sexual abuse by its priests.In an announcement Thursday, Bishop Michael C. Barber said church leaders were mulling the bankruptcy filing after having recently been informed that the diocese could face about 330 sexual abuse-related lawsuits. Gavin Newsom said Wednesday that $42 million would be made available to help those impacted by flooding through the United Way — but the aid organization said the correct amount currently available is just over $300,000.United Way of Monterey County Director Katy Castagna said Gov.
