Trump says Netanyahu ‘let us down’ before the 2020 airstrike that killed a top Iranian general

MIAMI (AP) — Former President Donald Trump has accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of betraying him just before the U.S. killed a top Iranian general in 2020, breaking from the Republican presidential primary field’s uniform support of Israel as it responds to Hamas’ deadly attack.Trump’s comments at a West Palm Beach, Florida, rally on Wednesday were quickly denounced by one of Netanyahu’s allies and by several Republicans who oppose Trump, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a 2024 rival. Most American leaders have lined up behind Israel after a multi-pronged Hamas invasion that President Joe Biden said was the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust. At least 2,500 people have died on both the Israeli and Palestinian sides. Trump, the early front-runner for the GOP presidential nomination, told the rally that his prayers were with Israel and vowed to stand by the country and not let it fail — before he went on to describe a “bad experienc...St. Lawrence Seaway workers vote in favour of strike if no deal reached by Oct. 21

WASHINGTON (AP) — Inflation in the United States likely eased again last month, though the decline might have slowed since summer, a reminder that the outsize price pressures of the past two years will take more time to cool. Consumer prices are forecast to have risen 0.3% from August to September, according to economists surveyed by the data provider FactSet. Such a rise would be much slower than the previous month’s 0.6% price increase but still too fast to match the Federal Reserve’s 2% inflation target. Excluding volatile food and energy costs, “core” prices likely also rose 0.3% in September, the same as in August. The Fed tracks the core figure in particular as a good indicator of the likely future path of inflation.Thursday’s inflation data could bolster — or undercut — the growing belief that the Fed can tame inflation through the series of 11 interest rate hikes it imposed beginning in March 2022 without causing a recession.Hiring surged unexpectedly in Se...‘Informer’ and ‘My Definition…’ added to Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame

Hi Jaime. I have to admit, it takes a lot to surprise me, but what I saw this past Friday takes the prize. We’ve all seen more and more workers putting out “tip jars” in hopes of getting a little financial love from customers. I’ve seen it at coffee shops, car washes, gas stations, grocery stores…but I’d never seen one at a doctor’s office…until now. On Friday, I went in for a physical and saw a tip jar at the reception desk. Have I been in the dark on this one, or is this more common than I realize? Do we have to tip everyone now for doing their jobs? For the record, I did put a buck into the jar, but it felt wrong. What do you think? GregI'm all about people trying to make more money where they can, but this feels wrong to me. But I'm open to hearing different opinions. I guess I just ...Multiple police departments respond to fatal shooting in Pine Lawn
