One of drivers injured in East San Diego crash dead after days in hospital

SAN DIEGO -- One of the two people injured in a head-on collision earlier this month has died, according to the San Diego medical examiner's office.The March 2 crash occurred shortly before 11:30 a.m. near the 4200 block of Camino Del Rio N in Grantville, when a Toyota pickup truck in the westbound left lane of the road veered across the diving line and struck a Honda SUV traveling eastbound head-on.The driver of the Toyota, identified as 95-year-old Robert Sherman George, sustained life-threatening injuries, according to San Diego police. George was taken to a hospital where he passed 11 days later on March 13. Bluff collapses in North County Complications of blunt force injuries was named as the cause of death by medical examiner's office officials.The driver of the Honda, a 77-year-old woman, had complaints of pain to the chest following the crash, according to authorities. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - Police have arrested a man accused of shooting his girlfriend to death Saturday morning in north St. Louis County. Darrick Dillon, 47, faces felony charges in the shooting death of Adayshia Jackson, 28. Police say Jackson was in a relationship with Dillon and shot to death after the two ended up in an argument. Police found Jackson deceased around 2 a.m. Saturday at a home in the 1100 block of Soria Street while responding to a welfare check. Jackson suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and evidence from the scene was linked to Dillon. This year’s Frozen Dead Guy Days festival marks the first time it was held in Estes Park. The event featured coffin races, three music stages, brain freeze contests, food trucks and many more activities, which concludes Sunday afternoon. Bredo Morstoel, from Norway, would have been 110-years-old, but died in 1989. After his death his family had him packed in dry ice and moved to a cryonics facility in California were he stayed for almost four years. He was moved to Colorado in 1993 and has been on dry ice in a shed in Nederland Colorado ever since. Authorities are investigating after two people were fatally shot while sitting near an apartment complex pool in Newhall on Saturday.The victims are a teenage boy and an adult man, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Their identities have not been released.Deputies responded to The Village apartment complex located on the 23700 block of Silverado Street around 10:51 a.m.Two male victims were found dead at the scene, said LASD. One victim was found sitting on a lounge chair while the other victim was lying on the ground near the pool. Both suspects were shot multiple times in the upper torso.
