KEENE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Rangers responded to multiple wilderness rescues in Essex County. Two of the individuals had to be flown to local hospitals for treatment. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! On the afternoon of July 8, Forest Rangers responded to and located an injured hiker on Cascade Mountain. The hiker sustained an unstable ankle injury. Rangers requested the assistance of New York State Police Aviation. The 38-year-old was successfully hoisted and taken to the hospital. Shortly after 1 p.m. on July 9, Forest Rangers were notified of a 13-year-old in anaphylactic shock on the Four Corners trail in the Eastern High Peaks. NYSP Aviation assistance was requested. The subject received an epinephrine injection from camp staff and was flown to the hospital. Rangers say the subject, who had not previously shown signs of a nut allergy, reacted to a granola bar. TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The 16th annual Troy Pig Out is returning to downtown Troy. The event is set for Sunday, July 16 starting at noon. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A St. Louis County man is accused of shooting a mother while she held her baby earlier this month. Prosecutors have charged Deondre Powell, 29, with one count of armed criminal action, domestic assault and endangering the welfare of a child. 3 killed, several injured in Greyhound bus crash According to court documents obtained by FOX 2, a witness told police that Powell pull out a firearm and shot the mother of his child in the face. This reportedly happened on July 1 in a north St. Louis County hotel complex on Hanley Road. The mother was holding a child, who was less than one month old, in her hands when Powell allegedly shot her.Investigators did not disclose a potential motive in relation to the shooting. WASHINGTON COUNTY, Mo. - An investigation is underway after a gyroplane crashed late Tuesday evening in Washington County with two people on board. A FAA spokesperson tells FOX 2 that a Magni M24 Orion gyroplane crashed in a field, just southeast of Washington County Airport in Potosi. It happened around 7 p.m. 3 killed, several injured in Greyhound bus crash Investigators say two people were on board during the crash, though do not have an update on their conditions as of Wednesday morning. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash. A former Kmart building in Thornton has a new owner.An entity associated with Michigan-based Gordon Food Service purchased the 192,532-square-foot building on 23 acres at 1400 E. 104th Ave. this month for $16.5 million, according to public records. Gordon Food Service, a 125-year-old firm, is a restaurant distributor that also operates grocerylike stores open to the public. The company has 25 distribution centers and 175 stores, according to its website.None are in Colorado. But Gordon has been in expansion mode this year, opening six new Texas stores and acquiring Canada-based Macgregors Meat & Seafood, according to press releases. San Francisco’s 127-year-old Anchor Brewing Co. will shut down after years of declining sales, citing tough economic conditions.“We recognize the importance and historic significance of Anchor to San Francisco and to the craft brewing industry, but the impacts of the pandemic, inflation, especially in San Francisco, and a highly competitive market left the company with no option but to make this sad decision to cease operations,” spokesperson Sam Singer said in a written statement Wednesday.Anchor said that it made repeated efforts over the past year to find buyers for the brewery and its brands, but that it was unable to find one.
