The thousands gathered to watch the theatrical scene went crazy in applause.Exactly 250 years to the date, the Boston Tea Party came back to life for one afternoon into the night.Matthew Solander, of Quincy, dressed up in a gray colonist suit as one of the reenactors to board the chilly ship. Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it,” Solander told the Herald outside the Old South Meeting House. “Doing stuff like this helps the public remember how we were born with privilege.”Though life is a lot different than it was back then when colonists protested tax...Japan and ASEAN bolster ties at summit focused on security amid China tensions

TOKYO (AP) — Leaders from Japan and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, marking their 50th anniversary of friendship, were meeting at a special summit on Sunday and expected to adopt a joint vision that emphasizes security cooperation amid growing tensions with China in regional seas.Ties between Japan and ASEAN used to be largely based on Japanese assistance to the developing economies, in part due to lingering bitterness over Japan’s wartime actions. But in recent years the ties have focused more on security amid China’s growing assertiveness in the South China Sea, while Japan’s postwar pacifist stance and trust-building efforts have fostered friendlier relations.“Based on our strong relationship of trust, it is our hope that Japan and ASEAN will bring together their strengths and find solutions in an era of compound crises that are difficult for any one country to solve,” Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said in a speech on Saturday night at the State Guest House in To...Veterans hit the court for pickleball tournament at Ellis Park

CINCINNATI — The criticism spread like wildfire on social media shortly after the Vikings suffered a 27-24 loss to the Bengals on Saturday afternoon at Paycor Stadium.Only needing a few inches to convert for a first down, the Vikings dialed up the Tush Push in the biggest moment of the game. It’s a short yardage play that has caught on across the NFL in part because of how successfully the Philadelphia Eagles have run it with quarterback Jalen Hurts. The logistics feature Hurts taking a snap under center, then falling forward while a few teammates push him from behind. It’s virtually unstoppable if run with the right personnel.Which plays into the Vikings running the Tush Push against the Bengals. On back-to-back plays in overtime, the Vikings had quarterback Nick Mullens take a snap under center, with receiver Brandon Powell motioning across the formation at the last moment to push him from behind. The main issue is the fact that Powell and his 5-foot-8, 180-pound f...Adams County deputy sued for allegedly putting inmate in chokehold
